The Evolution Authoring Tool is a client-based application that facilitates rapid template-driven, object-oriented development and reuse of content. Its powerful interface provides the user flexibility to author and view content in the tool itself, as well as on the Web. A base precept of Evolution is the separation of content from delivery medium. Thus, an author creates the content once and, by simply setting the appropriate object properties, Evolution immediately applies the proper rules to dynamically deliver that content to the Web, CD, print, and presentation. Evolution supports custom template creation and provides over 30 forms for instructional elements including textual, graphical, interactive, survey, and assessment. It includes open support for multimedia, easy external and legacy content integration, SCORM import for high transportability, and an open design methodology with a customizable hierarchy.
