Virtual Private Networks
This course describes Internet VPNs, and why they are used. It compares cost and geographical considerations between Frame Relay and VPN solutions. The course examines different types of VPNs: remote access VPNs, branch office VPNs, internal corporate VPNs and extranet VPNs. It looks at how to plan a VPN by examining network environment, connectivity, and network infrastructure. It teaches the operation of tunnelling, how to differentiate between tunnelling protocols, two tunnelling techniques, and the different tunnelling models.

This course is intended for network professionals and managerial staff that are interested in learning more about the basics of network security and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). It is a prerequisite for anyone who has no knowledge of VPNs, and wishes to take more of the Security course set.
