ATM Addressing and Routing
This course describes the nature and types of ATM end-system addressing. It explains the purpose and scope of ATM addressing and introduces the various address formats. In particular, it details the Network Service Access Point (NSAP) address structure, the foundation of ATM routing. The course continues by discussing the addressing required at the local interface level. It discusses ATM routing by explaining the use of Integrated Local Management Interface (ILMI) for local routing, and Public Network-to-Network Interface (PNNI) for network routing. It also describes various other signalling processes and protocols for network interfaces.
